The Modern Family star opened up about her decision to go under the knife in a candid chat with Glamour magazine correspondent Jessica Radloff, and in the interview, which was published online on Wednesday (12Aug15), the 17 year old admitted she had been struggling to accept her busty figure ever since puberty hit.

Explaining her decision to go from a 32F to a 34D, she said, "We live in a day and age where everything you do is so ridiculed. As women in the industry, we are totally oversexualised and treated like objects. Every article that has to do with me on a red carpet has to do with 'Ariel Winter's Crazy Cleavage!' or 'Ariel Winter Shows Huge Boobs at an Event!' And that's all people would recognise me by."

Winter has since been inundated with supportive messages on social media, and she has taken to Instagram.com to express her gratitude.

In a lengthy post, she writes, "I feel so blessed that you gave me a chance to share my story. I am extremely humbled. Jessica you are amazing!!!! To my fans, you guys have all been so supportive and I couldn't thank y'all more. You are all amazing human beings and I'm honored to have you.

"HUGE thanks go to the people who support me, love me, and take care of me in every way possible."

She goes on to salute her "incredible sister" Shanelle Gray, her father Glenn Workman, and the "love of my life", boyfriend Laurent Claude Gaudette, continuing, "THANK YOU GUYS SO MUCH! I love you all more than anything. I don't know what I'd do without you guys".

Closing the post with a message to her fans, she adds, "Lastly, never be afraid to speak your mind. Always make decisions because YOU want to, and always do what makes YOU happy."

Winter poignantly did not mention her mum, Chrystal Workman, who she has been estranged from since 2012. She won legal emancipation from her in May (15).
