Justin Timberlake AMAJustin Timberlake: Good on the looks side. Bad on the lyrics side.

Justin Timberlake - ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around’

Justin Timberlake is undoubtedly one of the smoothest dudes in music, and he can easily make any woman in the world fall instantly in love with him. But on his FutureSex/LoveSounds track, ‘What Goes Around… Comes Around,’ what in the world was he thinking? “When you cheated, girl, my heart bleeded, girl.” I mean, I get it - it rhymes, and Timberlake was, like, in his early 20’s when that song came out. However, that line is so bad, it wouldn’t even make the girl feel bad that she cheated. In fact, it sounds like a song Tommy Pickles from Rugrats would write. Wait, that actually sounds awesome.

Timbaland - ‘The Way I Are’

Timbaland does a very good job producing music. He also does a very good job at showing why he’s better off producing music than rapping in it. In his critically acclaimed 2007 record, Shock Value, Timbaland, Keri Hilson, and D.O.E. link up together for the track, ‘The Way I Are.’ “Can you handle me the way I are?,” asks Timbaland. No. No, I can’t. I even have a better question for you: who even talks like that?! “I like you just the way you are” is actually said throughout the song multiple times, which makes it even more baffling. At least make that the title! ‘The Way I Are’ ended up going triple platinum in the U.S. and peaked at number three on the charts, so I think Timbaland is probably too busy drowning in money to worry about grammar mistakes.

Lady GaGa - ‘Bad Romance’

Shame on you, Lady Gaga. “You and me could write a bad romance.” I think it was drilled into our heads enough in grade school to know that it’s “you and I.” Speaking of “you and I,” Gaga actually has a song on the follow-up record titled ‘You and I,’ but naturally the lyrics in the song are wrong, because it should be “you and me” instead. With her most recent album, ARTPOP, does Gaga make it three records in a row with an error? Probably, but all Gaga cares about is that you get her album title right. "Make sure when writing about my new album/project, ARTPOP, that you capitalize the title. It's all in the details,” she said on Twitter. Irony is a beautiful thing.
