Music legend Aretha Franklin wants Academy Award winner JENNIFER HUDSON to play her in an upcoming film based on her life. The Queen of Soul appeared backstage at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Monday night (12MAR07), where she talked about Hudson being the ideal choice to portray her. A book on Franklin's life is scheduled to debut as a theatre production in the coming months, with talk of Hudson playing the soul legend in the film adaptation already in circulation. Hudson won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar last month (FEB07) for her role as EFFIE WHITE in the movie musical DREAMGIRLS.
