Singer Aretha Franklin embarked on her weight loss mission after breaking an exercise machine.
The Respect hitmaker, who previously revealed she was motivated to lose weight because she was "too fat for words," has now admitted an embarrassing accident actually prompted her to take action.
She explains, "I had a Power Rider that I used for exercise and I actually broke it - I was that heavy. I didn't know how to lose weight."
But after shedding 85 pounds (38.5 kilograms) in recent months, the Queen of Soul is serious about getting back in shape.
She adds, "I'm on the track at least three times a week, and the treadmill. I'm up to about 26 minutes on the treadmill and a mile and a half on the track. I haven't worked up to a run yet; it's more like a slow trot."
