Arctic Monkeys will release 'Black Treacle', their fourth single from their 'Suck It And See' album on Monday 23rd January 2012, on 7" and digitally. The single will be backed with the exclusive new track 'You And I' by Richard Hawley and The Death Ramps, which was recorded and produced by Ross Orton in Sheffield.
The video for 'Black Treacle' here was filmed in Sheffield and Los Angeles and directed by Aaron Brown & Ben Chappell AKA Focus Creeps (who has directed videos for Girls and The Morning Benders), who said about the video:
"The 'Black Treacle' video is a compilation of the darker outtakes of 'Suck It & See'. In the desert, the bright rays of the sun cast a long dark shadow. It's a prequel where laws get broke, and a sequel where hearts get broke. On the one hand, the song kind of says, no matter how low things go, you can always dream, and on the other hand it's a video that kind of shows: kids, don't try this at home."
Arctic Monkeys are currently on the road in Australia, continuing their 'Suck It And See' world tour, which has taken in dates in Europe, America and a recent sold out Arena tour in the UK in October 2011, where they were supported by The Vaccines. The tour will end in South America in April 2012.
Suck It and See is the first album in which the band have released four singles.
Corgan took to Instagram to confirm rumours of new Pumpkins material, saying the first songs could arrive as early as May.
