British rock sensations Arctic Monkeys are fleeing England this summer (06), to escape the media frenzy surrounding them.

The band have risen from nowhere to become the biggest group in the country - they recently scooped Best New Band and Best British Band at the NME Awards as well as the British Breakthrough Act at the Brit Awards - but they are fiercely protective of their image and fear becoming over-exposed.

Drummer MATT HELDERS says, "We're going to be spending summer playing the European festival circuit as we're worried about getting over-exposed at home.

"Don't get me wrong, it's real good that people like what we're doing.

"But you know you have to be careful. We're trying to get our heads round the attention. It's mad."
