An Arctic Monkeys fan was hospitalised on Friday (01Aug14) after he was attacked and bitten in the arm while attending the Lollapalooza festival in Chicago, Illinois.
Ben Lenet was watching the British rockers onstage at the Grant Park venue last week when an unknown assailant approached him and his two friends from behind, grabbing one of them in a bear hug and tackling him to the ground.
As Lenet came to his pal's rescue, the attacker turned his head and chomped down on the 29 year old's forearm, breaking the skin, according to local news site NBCChicago.com.
The biting victim's other friend then kicked the suspect in the face, prompting him to run away.
Lenet was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was given antibiotics to prevent an infection.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, but have yet to make an arrest.
The bizarre incident was the first of two biting attacks at concerts over the weekend (01-03Aug14) - Robert Alcaraz-Garnica was taken into custody on Saturday (02Aug14) after allegedly chewing off the tip of another man's finger during an altercation at Jay Z and Beyonce's On The Run tour stop in Los Angeles.
