Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner has likened playing the band's early hits to telling "the same joke 600 times".

The singer admits he struggles when performing some of the band's first releases because he is bored of playing the same old tunes.

He tells Britain's Daily Star newspaper, "Sometimes it's tough to get through one of the old ones live. You know, you don't feel like that anymore. When you tell the same joke 600 times, you won't hear what it is any more."

Arctic Monkeys' early music includes their two U.K. number one hits, I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor and When the Sun Goes Down, which were the band's first and second singles.
