Neil Davidge's 'Halo 4' soundtrack is influenced by Massive Attack.

The record producer and composer has worked with electronic band since the nineties - contributing to albums 'Mezzanine', '100th Window', 'Collected' and 'Heligoland' - and says all of them influenced his work on video game 'Halo 4'.

He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: ''My work with Massive Attack gave me a lot of creative freedom to explore new ideas and new approaches. It has influenced me as a composer hugely. I've had free reign. I haven't had a record company breathing down my neck.

Metallica reunited with former bassist Jason Newsted at the first of their 30th anniversary shows last night (05.12.11).

The rockers played an intimate gig at the Fillmore in San Francisco and the 1,200 fans who packed into the venue were thrilled with the special three-hour set, which included a number of the band's lesser-known songs.

It was the first of four shows at the concert this week and a pass to see all the gigs was $19.81 - a figure that honours the year the band formed - while individual shows cost just $6.

Lindemann Wins Damages From Apocalyptica

Rammstein Till Lindemann Apocalyptica

Rammstein frontman Till Lindemann has won damages from Finnish rockers Apocalyptica after accusing the group of copyright infringement.

The German musician sued the heavy metal band after making an appearance on their 2007 album Worlds Collide. His complaint stated a sticker on the CD suggested the record featured a contribution from Rammstein, rather than just him.

The case went before Germany's Regional Court of Berlin last month (Dec10) and the judge agreed that trademark infringement had occurred and ruled the band should pay $57,000 (£38,000) in damages.
