Antonio Banderas is seen as a dirt covered miner in the new trailer for 'The 33'.

The 54-year-old actor stars in the upcoming blockbuster based on the true story of the 2010 Chilean mountain disaster and plays head miner, Mario Sepulveda, who became trapped days before he was due to retire.

In the three minute teaser from Warner Bros. an American news anchor announces that the boulder that trapped the miners is actually twice the size of the Empire State building, while Antonio is shown staring up at the huge bulk of mountain debris.

He says: ''That's not a rock, that's the heart of the mountain. She finally broke.''

The film also stars 'The Usual Suspects' actor Gabriel Byrne, who plays Andre Sougarret, the engineer who masterminded the rescue operation and singer Jennifer Lopez stars as Maria Sergova, the sister of trapped miner Darío Segovia.

'Love Actually' actor Rodrigo Santoro, French actress and Juliette Binoche and 'The West Wing' actor Martin Sheen all have supporting roles.

Footage from news coverage of the rescue efforts is also used to recount events that led up to the 100-year-old gold and copper mine caving in and the international political pressure to dig the miners out.

'The 33' is slated for release on November 13.
