Anthrax rocker Scott Ian has been left in agony during his spoken word tour as he finds the shows more gruelling than his performances with the heavy metal band.
The guitarist has been touring the U.K. on his Speaking Words tour, during which he talks about his life and tells anecdotes, and he admits he wasn't prepared for the physical demands of two and a half hours on stage on his own.
He tells Metalhammer.co.uk, "You'd be surprised that walking around and talking for two and a half hours is actually physically harder than performing with Anthrax. There's no break. No time between stories to stand on the side and wipe my face and have a drink. It's just non-stop. After the first few shows in the U.K., my feet, hips and knees were those of an 80 year old."
The star's tour hits North America later this month (Feb14).
