Sir Anthony Hopkins is set to star in new thriller 'Solace'.
The 73-year-old actor is in final discussions with New Line Cinema to take on the role of clairvoyant Dr. John Clancy who is enlisted by the police to help them catch a Dangerous serial killer in the movie.
The project has been in development since 2008 and is being produced by Contrafilm, Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson and Matthias Emke.
The film doesn't currently have a director attached, although Mark Pellington - whose previous work includes the supernatural mystery 'The Mothman Prophecies', which starred Richard Gere - was set to helm it in 2008 when the movie was originally announced.
Of course Hopkins is no stranger to the horror and thriller genres.
His most famous role was as cannibal killer Dr. Hannibal Lector in the 1991 movie 'The Silence Of The Lambs' - a performance which earned him the Best Actor Oscar.
He has reprised the role twice in the sequel 'Hannibal' and prequel 'Red Dragon'.
Hopkins is also in talks to reprise his character Odin in the 'Thor' sequel.
