SIR Anthony Hopkins is baffled by reports he is causing tension on the set of his new movie Thor - because working on the comic book adaptation is "one of the great experiences" of his acting career.
Rumours circulated on Wednesday (ends31Mar10) that the Silence of the Lambs Oscar-winner had brought a "pessimistic" vibe to the set after constantly criticising Aussie newcomer Chris Hemsworth, who takes on the title role in the Kenneth Branagh venture.
Hopkins was said to be so infuriated by the reports, he was in talks with his lawyers to discuss taking legal action over the false allegations, according to his wife Stella.
Now the Welsh veteran has released a statement rebuffing the claims - insisting he couldn't be having a better time working on the blockbuster.
He says, "I am having the time of my life making Thor with Ken and Chris. They have made every day immensely fun and collaborative, and we're all puzzled that someone would fabricate a story suggesting otherwise.
"I'm proud to say that Thor has been one of the great experiences of my career."
