TV presenters Ant and Dec earned an eye-watering £29.5 million together during the last year – equating to a hefty £79,000 every single day – it has been revealed.

New accounting documents filed by the Geordie presenters, both aged 41, show that in the last 12 months they earned the massive figure for the year ending June 2016, thanks to their work fronting ‘I’m A Celebrity…’, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’.

A number of big-name celebrities including David Beckham, Gary Lineker and Ant & Dec are among those who have lost a legal big to overturn a tax bill of £700 million.

They are among more than 1,000 people who invested in the Ingenious film financing scheme in order to gain tax relief. The scheme, which helped produce massive movies such as Avatar, qualified for tax breaks designed to boost the British film industry.

However, HMRC contended that the scheme relied on artificial losses from the movies concerned, and that meant that Ingenious was not a legitimate investment opportunity but a tax avoidance vehicle.

The market for ‘90s TV nostalgia is set to grow even larger, with reports that Ant & Dec are thinking of reuniting with Cat Deeley to bring back Saturday morning favourite ‘SM:TV Live’ for a one-off special to mark the show’s 20th anniversary.

The Geordie-born presenters teamed up with Deeley to present the ITV Saturday morning mainstay from its debut in 1998 to 2001. They are currently working with presenter Stephen Mulhern – who himself hosted ‘SM:TV Live’ briefly in 2003 before it went off the air – on their own show ‘Saturday Night Takeaway’, and in a new interview with Metro they admitted a special comeback was a possibility.

Ant & Dec is one of the most successful combinations of personalities in TV history, with the pair reportedly earning five figures each every single day. However, they’re not content with sitting on their laurels when their contract with ITV comes to an end, and are exploring the possibility of branching out into sitcoms or maybe even the stage.

"Yes! I bagged tickets for Ant and Dec!" nobody has ever said, ever. Even when they were pop stars. But now, the comedy duo are trying to persuade the British people to part with their cash and stump up £40 to watch a live version of Saturday Night Takeaway in one of the various soulless hangers across the country.

The showbiz duo will take the show to 12 UK arenas next summer before the popular show returns to screens in autumn 2014. The news comes after speculation that the pair could be planning an American version.

"Takeaway is the one show that people always tell us they'd love to be in the audience for, so we've decided to take the show to them!" they told Digital Spy, "Just like the TV show, the audience will have a chance of winning some fantastic prizes as well as being an essential part of the show."

British television legend Bruce Forsyth – current presenter of Strictly Come Dancing – has announced that children shouldn’t be allowed on Britain’s Got Talent.

"I don't think they should put children on that are too young. If you're going to do that, have a separate show. Have a children's show, British Children Have Talent," Forsyth told The Mail on Sunday. "To put little children through that kind of an ordeal, I think that is wrong. I think it was last year some poor little girl of about 11 was crying her eyes out on there. I don't think that's entertainment." BGT – hosted by Ant and Dec – has become one of the most popular shows on television as it pits contestants against each other in singing, dancing, magic tricks or even dog shows. Forsyth, too, has become a British staple over the years. Speaking of his return to Strictly Come Dancing, he added: "It's looking like I'll definitely be doing it and I'm looking forward to it." Forsyth recently revealed that he wants Ant & Dec to replace him on Strictly if he quits.

"So many people have been put in the frame, but I'd love Ant and Dec to do it. I think they'd do an amazing job," he said, fully endorsing the Geordie pair, who rose to prominence with their cheeky antics on Byker Grove and their musical styling as PJ & Duncan.

Ant and Dec’s chart dream has come to an end after just one week on top of the UK Singles charts after they were knocked from their perch by the club hit ‘Need U (100%).’

The successful TV hosts were surprised to find themselves in the running for the top spot just over a week ago after they performed their 1994 hit ‘Ready To Rhumble’ – made when they were still best known for playing fresh-faced youngsters PJ and Duncan in children’s soap Byker Grove – on Saturday Night Takeaway on ITV. Sparking the public’s imagination it rocketed to the top of first the iTunes charts and then the official Top 40 on March 31^st. However, after ‘Need U (100%)’ by A*M*E ousted them, they sit at sixth place in last weekend’s charts.

However, while their pop career might have snuffed out once again, their TV career continues to soar and they were once again on the top spot for Saturday night’s TV ratings in the UK, with Saturday Night Takeaway defeating the second in the series of reality singing contest The Voice on BBC. The Voice did record the highest peak audience for a show on the evening – 8.8 million – but that came after Takeaway had finished and when it came to average figures it was trumped by 7.3 million to 6.4 million. The real problems for The Voice lie ahead; last year the ratings dropped hugely once the ‘blind’ rounds were done with, it’ll be tough to ensure the same doesn’t happen again. Maybe they should give Kavana another go.

Uh oh – reality check for Ant & Dec; the jewels in the crown of ITV’s broadcasting schedule managed to beat The Voice on Saturday night, but the re-release of their single Let's Get Ready to Rhumble was knocked off the top spot after just a week. Ant & Dec performed the song as part of their show, Saturday Night Takeaway.

The PJ & Duncan song finally got to the number 1 spot after only charting at No 9 when it was originally released back in 1994. That didn’t last long though; the Duke Dumont track 'Need U (100%)', featuring A*M*E has usurped the Newcastle double act, making their long-awaited number 1 single a short-lived affair. But it’s not as if they dropped to second, no; they dropped six places, with Pink, Justin Timberlake and Bastille all climbing above the charity single. Still, at least they’re on top of their game o the television. SNT managed an average audience of 7.3 million, compared to 6.4 million for BBC’s flagship talent show, The Voice, which is doing everything it can to hold off competition from Britain’s Got Talent – another Ant & Dec-hosted show, which stars again next week.

For all Ant and Dec’s huge success on British TV, we must admit we’ve never really envisioned them crossing over to an American audience. For one thing their brand of humour feels very British in itself and, for another, Cheryl Cole’s disastrous attempt to make it on the new X Factor stateside went awry for, among other reasons, people struggling to understand her Geordie accent.

Nevertheless, it’s become public knowledge that the duo are indeed discussing a move to America, where they’ll be taking their Saturday evening entertainment show Saturday Night Take Away with them. They did try taking on America back on 2009, as STV points out, but their show Wanna Bet? lasted only six episodes before being cut due to poor ratings. However they clearly feel their luck has changed and, speaking on television, Declan Donnelly addressed the speculation. “There's murmurings and there's talk about [the US] and obviously it's done so well here” he said, of the show that’s in its 10^th series in the UK. “There's only two left of the current run here, so there's talk about it. I don't know, I think it would be great, it would be fun to do in the States – Takeaway would be amazing out there. It's a big country - lots of people, lots of fun you could have - so who knows?"

Elsewhere, the pair could be set to top the UK singles charts with their 1993 hit ‘Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble’ after they performed the song on last weekend’s ‘Takeaway. Bookies William Hill have them at 8/13 to succeed.

They only performed it for a bit of a nostalgic giggle, but could Ant and Dec be set to bring back their PJ & Duncan personas and set the world of music alight once more?

The cheeky Geordie duo – real names Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – performed their 1993 hit Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble on their ITV show Saturday Night Takeaway, but what was meant to be a fun got picked upon by their viewers and it’s since been revealed by The Independent that they’re set to top the iTunes chart this week with the song! Furthermore, it looks like they could be getting close to the top of the UK singles chart proper! Dec wrote on Twitter after discovering the news “I know the charts have slowed down a bit but taking 19 yrs to get to No.3 is just plain radix. D #LetsGetReadyToRhumble (sic).”

If you believe bookies William Hill though they could well be hitting the top spot, with odds being offered on the pair at just 8/13 on  the song reaches number one this weekend (6/5 it does not).“It seems as though the whole nation was watching Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend and as a result, Let's Get Ready To Rhumble is number one on the iTunes chart and looks likely to scoop the UK number one this weekend,” said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. “Ant and Dec could get their first number one 20 years after their first single.” Help us all.

UK boy band One Direction were well and truly fooled by Geordie presenting duo Ant and Dec when they filmed a segment for Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway show recently. In fact, they were so fooled by one of the TV pair’s pranks that they ended up phoning an ambulance for a man that they believed to be their biggest fan, who had collapsed during a meeting with them.

According to a story in the Evening Standard, Ant revealed that he and Dec both dressed up as men claiming to be One Direction’s biggest fans. “Dec dressed up as one called Jack from New Zealand and I was Ben, a TV host from there… introduced him to the group – and the meeting didn’t go as planned. But they fell for it. I faked an asthma attack. They panicked and I hyperventilated.. They called medical emergencies. It was such fun and they fell for it.” As if that wasn’t enough, they played another prank on the boys, when Ant “accidentally” left his microphone on, so that Harry, Niall, Liam, Zayn and Louis had to listen to him discussing which one of them he thought was the sexiest. We’ll bet that was a pretty embarrassing few moments while it lasted.

If you like the sound of watching One Direction go red in the face with embarrassment, then you could do worse than to tune in to Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, which will be broadcast on Saturday (March 23, 2013).

There’s something truly fascinating about Ant and Dec. It’s not that they’ve been a comedy-entertainment partnership for 25 years; it’s not even that they used to write really, really bad songs, or that they still remain popular after all these years.

No: what’s fascinating is that they kept their respective (let’s face it, they’re one person) reputations squeaky clean. They haven’t indulged in any celebrity sex tapes – they haven’t needed to – and neither have they been embroiled in a drugs scandal, as so many in the public eye are, by virtue of the fact they are indeed, in the public eye. "Years ago, yeah," Ant told The Guardian journalist who asked them if they’d ever tried drugs, "but we're not really druggy people, that's the thing. I think you either go into that crowd as a kid or you don't, and we didn't. We found the love of alcohol very early on and we stayed with it." Dec: "There's a real pub culture where we're from in Newcastle, so we're just more boozy people."

Simon Cowell and cheeky comedy duo Ant and Dec have decided to go into horseracing, and have each bought a quarter of a racehorse, The Sun reports. The other quarter of the divvied up filly belongs to a friend, apparently.

A source said: "Simon has been into racing for years. He has always wanted to be more involved than being just a punter. The opportunity came up to buy a young horse that's destined for the track and they all jumped at the chance. Simon is being guided by Ant and Dec as they have experience in the ownership of horses. As for the name, that's still up in the air but they could do worse than name her after something they're all associated with, like Britain's Got Talent." Ant and Dec

They have experience in the game, having previously split a horse four ways with Dec's ex-girlfriend Georgie Thompson and her mum. The horse -  called Primeval - came second at Ascot last year. They later sold the animal back to her original owners.

Morrisons have hired TV presenters Ant and Dec to save their ailing fortunes, with a multi-million pound partnership deal. The company, according to the Yorkshire Post, has been suffering from falling income and the gap between the company and its rivals is ever-growing. On Monday (January 7, 2013), Morrisons are expected to publish “poor trading over the all-important Christmas period.” However, the costly marketing campaign designed to turn around Morrison’s fortunes has been blasted by a leading retail analyst.

Shore Capital’s Clive Black told the Yorkshire Post that the supermarket is “delusional” and added “Morrisons has recently spoken that it needs to improve its communication to the markets and clearly thinks Ant and Dec can help in that process. We’ll see. However, to think that its underperformance of the market is down solely to communication is unreal to our minds.” A spokesperson for Morrisons refused to answer those comments directly though they did have a defence for their new marketing approach, saying “We are keen to get back to shouting about what makes us unique. It’s important for any brand to do that. At the same time it’s important these days for supermarkets to keep on talking about the value that they are offering customers.”

Morrison’s marketing director Rebecca Singleton has described Ant and Dec as “the most loved and the UK’s favourite personalities… They wanted to work with us. They have obviously got northern roots and they see Morrisons as a really great fit with their personalities and what they are about. Hopefully it’s a marriage made in heaven.”

Eric Bristow managed to reach the final four of the I'm a Celebrity competition, in which celebrities are thrust into the depths of the jungle having to live with very little entertainment or food- all of which adds up to brilliant fun for everyone at home. 

However, the former darts champ was exited from the wilderness today, which means he goes back to a warm hotel, comfy bed and as much food as he can muster- quite the opposite of the minimalism of the outdoors. Charlie Brooks, David Haye and Ashley Roberts (from the Pussy Cat Dolls) are still left out there to fend for themselves, and according to Bristow it'll be Haye that wins, reports the Mirror.

Bristow has been fairly popular with fellow contestants (except Helen Flanagan) and the audience alike, but Hugo Taylor was his biggest fan. The Made in Chelsea star said, in an interview with This Morning, "'Eric was my rock in there and he's my new best friend. I'm so happy that I managed to make a friend who was completely different to everyone else I know and I'm sure we'll be dear friends for the rest of our lives." adding, "'I love that man more than anything. I cannot wait until he gets out." Isn't that sweet? Well, Hugo doesn't need to wait any longer. They're probably having a pint as we speak.

Charlie Brooks' daughter made a brief appearance on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, only to miss out on seeing her mother after ITV played cruel game on the Eastenders star. They're now under fire for going a little too far with that one.

It sounds like excellent television; presenting the contestants with different coloured doors, and, unbeknown to them, hide loved family members behind a door while leaving a dream reunion up to chance. It was hard luck for Charlie Brooks, as she managed to pick the wrong door, only to find out that her daughter, who she hasn't seen for weeks, was only metres away. Teary eyed, she said: "I swear to god, it felt like someone had taken a boot and kicked me in the guts. I didn't even think having a member of family behind the door would have been an option," The Daily Mail report. "This is heartbreaking. Yellow's my favourite colour she would have been thinking, "mummy would pick yellow"." 

She added: "It's fine, I just can't believe she was there that's what's got me more than anything.  It doesn't matter that we didn't get it, it was just that she was so close." Later Charlie said, 'I'm really glad I didn't get the pizza.  I'm really glad that I didn't get anything because if I'd sat there and enjoyed something knowing afterwards that she was there whilst I was going 'this is the best prize' I think I would have felt even worse." The first I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here eviction has been announced, and it's Tory MP Nadine Dorries who has been given her marching orders first, The Sun Reports.

Talking to Ant and Dec after the result was announced, she said: "I'm not disappointed. When you've been starving for two weeks you can't be that disappointed. "I kind of expected it anyway. I don't think the public understand how hardcore it is down there. The effect on your body when you've had two teaspoons of rice a day, it's hard, hard, hard," she explained. "I don't know what people have seen but I've had so many good conversations in there. We MPs and anyone in public life need to go where people are." A controversial figure in the group, Dorries ate camel toe and ostrich anus during her time in the camp, had said she wanted to change people's perceptions of politicians and claims to have 'found herself'. Those, however, weren't the controversial things, as that kind of behaviour is normal on I'm A Celeb, in fact it's mandatory!

Trying to change the way the public view MP's, Nadine seems to have caused quite a stir in her constituency, choosing to fly out to Australia without telling her party superiors.
