Anne Hathaway, William Shatner and Benjamin Bratt were among the winners at the 2009 Prism Awards, honouring Hollywood productions which raise awareness of drug-related issues.
The Los Angeles ceremony, which took place on Thursday (23Apr09), saw Hathaway praised for her role in Rachel Getting Married, in which she played a troubled drug addict.
Shatner was honoured for an episode of hit TV show Boston Legal, and Bratt was lauded for a multi-episode storyline on The Cleaner.
Other stars named for their good work include Desperate Housewives star Dana Delany and Grey's Anatomy's Chandra Wilson.
Several TV shows were also praised for accurate portrayals of mental health and addiction themes, including King of the Hill, Law & Order: SVU, and The Office.
