Anne Hathaway, the American actress who is currently starring alongside Jake Gyllenhaal in the romantic-comedy 'Love and Other Drugs', is set to make a cameo appearance on Glee after speaking with the show's co-creator RYAN MURPHY at last night's GOLDEN GLOBES (16th January 2011), reports Access Hollywood. Hathaway missed out on an award at the annual ceremony, but looks to have landed herself a part in one of America's biggest shows.
Back in November 2010, Hathaway told television host Jimmy Fallon that she was keen to make a cameo on the show, and last night Murphy confirmed that a deal had been agreed in principal, saying, "She walked by our table and we have a mutual friend and I said, 'Do you really want to do it?' And she said, 'I do.' And I said, 'OK, we're gonna do it". Murphy said that filming on the episode should go ahead in around a month and a half, and added, "I have to talk to Anne about what she wants to sing. I'm sure she has ideas. I'm excited about that". It seems the actress has already decided what she will perform on the show, she told Fallon, "I would sing, 'You Are Not Alone', a song from Stephen Sondheim's Into The Woods".
Although further details of Hathaway's role are yet to be released, she has expressed her desire to play Kurt Hummel's long-lost aunt, who happens to be lesbian. GLEE returns to screens on 6th February 2011.
