The 'Les Miserables' actress, who has been holidaying on the island of Oahu with her husband, Adam Shulman, for several days, hurt herself after she got into difficulty in a strong rip current close to the beach.
The 31-year-old star began screaming for assistance and a nearby surfer rushed to assist her back to safety, according to gossip website RadarOnline.com.
Eyewitnesses said the Oscar-winner's husband was on the beach at the time of the incident and rushed to meet her with a first-aid kit as she was brought ashore.
