British actress Anna Friel has had blood from her arm injected into her face in a grisly anti-ageing process.
The Pushing Daisies star, 36, has confessed she is not against preserving her youthful looks with the help of a medic and reveals she has undergone a bizarre procedure known as a "vampire facelift".
Blood is extracted from the patient's arm and the plasma is separated and injected into the face to encourage skin cells to replenish.
Explaining her beauty secrets, Friel tells Britain's The Times Magazine, "I do all the moisturisers. My brother's a doctor and he's created a smoothie that's good for the skin. And I have this thing called a vampire facelift - they take a phial of blood out of your arm, separate the plasma and inject it in your face. It helps the skin repair itself."
