Cult Maryland trio Animal Collective have scored another major career boost after landing at the top of another major music magazine end-of-year album poll.
Just a week after the group's Meriweather Post Pavilion was named the year's best album in Britain's Mojo magazine, editors at Spin in America have also named the release their top pick of 2009.
The album beat the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' It's Blitz and the acclaimed Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix by Phoenix to claim the coveted top spot in the Spin poll.
Grizzly Bear's Veckatimest and Album by Girls also made the top five.
The Yeah Yeah Yeahs topped the magazine's Best Songs list with Zero. The track beat Phoenix's 1901 and Hellhole Ratrace by Girls.
