Angus and Julia Stone
In recent months Angus & Julia Stone have brought a ray of Australian sunshine to a soggy English Summer and their new EP 'The Beast' will be released on their own label on November 12th.
Since the release of their mini-album Heart Full Of Wine earlier this year, the popularity of the Australian brother-sister duo has grown remarkably. Selling out venues from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands, taking in festivals such as Hyde Park Calling, Belladrum, Latitude, the Edinburgh Fringe and this week their final festival show at The Electric Picnic in Ireland.
Not long after they arrived in London Angus & Julia were taken under the wing of Travis frontman Fran Healy, who began work with them on material for their debut album 'A Book Like This', due for a UK release next year.
The Beast itself is an up-beat lead single, deploying the Stones trademark boy-girl harmonies, with a broader scope that echoes Fleetwood Mac's sense of drama. They themselves may be modest about their talents and surprised by the interest in their songs, but Angus & Julia possess a charm, both live and on record, that weaves its way into the sub-conscious. Go seek.. The Beast EP out November 12th.
