R&B singer/actress Angie Stone will not face trial in her assault case after a jury failed to indict her.
The Wish I Didn't Miss You star, real name Angela Brown, was arrested last year (15) for allegedly clashing with her 31-year-old daughter Diamond following a confrontation about her messy room and the way she parented her young children.
The heated argument reportedly turned physical and Stone allegedly lashed out at Diamond with a metal stand, catching her in the mouth. Following the alleged incident, Brown was arrested and charged with domestic aggravated assault.
Her case headed to a DeKalb County, Georgia grand jury last week (ends01Apr15), and now the trial will not be moving forward.
Stone could not be reached for comment, but Diamond explains she has mixed feelings about the ruling.
"I didn't want her to go to jail, but I thought there would be some type of reprimand," she tells Bossip.com.
"I just want it to be clear that just because she was not brought up on charges, doesn't erase what she did," she continues. "That's the main thing. I'm OK, my kids are OK. Everybody is doing well. But (I don't want people to think) because no charges were brought, that it was fictitious, or it wasn't as bad as it actually was. I don't want that to be forgotten about."
