Angelina Jolie has taken her fair share of criticism for her bizarre on-stage pose while presenting at the 84th Academy Awards on Sunday (February 26, 2012), but it seems the actress caught Fox presenter Billy O'Reilly's eye for a very different reason.
The controversial broadcaster ran with a section about Angelina's skinny frame on Monday's 'The O'Reilly Factor', showing footage of the actress on the red-carpet and asking, "Is it just me or is she looking mighty slim these days? Emaciated even? I was kind of taken aback. Look at the arms on her!". The 62-year-old pointed out that Angelina is "a role model for some women", and adding that her thin appearance was the wrong message to be sending out to young people, adding, "Something's going on here. She is slight. Let's hope it's nothing unusual". Angelina's figure had actually caught the eye of a couple of other celebrities during the Oscars telecast, with Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks tweeting that although "beautiful", Angelina "needs a lil' more meat on those bones!". She suggested eating "some biscuits and Popeyes chicken". Singer-songwriter Bonnie McKee agreed with Parks, but rather more bluntly urged Jolie to "eat something".
Angelina has always played down issues concerning her weight, and a source close to the actress told US Weekly magazine said, "She puts herself on fasts to make statements for the children she visits. She says, 'If they can't eat, I can't eat".
