As the Golden Globes turn into a distant memory and all attention turns to the Oscars - there's still one question to answer: who was officially crowned the Best Dressed at Sunday's ceremony in Los Angeles? (15 January, 2012). Fashion critics and commentators certainly had their say, though the results of online polls - as voted for by fans - are beginning to show one clear winner.

The Sydney Morning Herald published its annual shortlist of 10 celebrities following the ceremony and asked fans to vote for their favorite. The list included Angelina Jolie, who stunned fans by ditching her muted gowns for an all-out classic Hollywood look, complete with bright red makeup. Globe-winner Kate Winslet oozed elegance in a Jenny Packham black and white gown, while Natalie Portman opted for a bright Lanvin dress. Elsewhere in the Morning Herald's Top 10 was Rooney Mara, who rocked her gothic elegance in a Nina Ricci gown. The actress, who plays hacker Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's remake of The Girl with The Dragon Tattoo, is quickly establishing herself as one of Hollywood's most stylish actresses. So, 72 hours after the Golden Globes ceremony, who is topping the poll? Well, fans were obviously unimpressed with Mara, who drew just 2 per cent of the vote, with Winslet and Claire Danes taking 7 per cent and 9 per cent respectively. Veteran actress Helen Mirren impressed and finished in 2nd place with 13 per cent, but there was one clear winner: Angelina.

Taking a huge 31 per cent of the vote, Jolie's Atelier Versace gown with matching red lipstick and clutch bag was the style of the ceremony. The look was perfectly complimented by her partner Brad Pitt's subtle three-piece tuxedo suit, and although the couple failed to land any awards, they took home all the style plaudits.
