Angelina Jolie found it tougher to adapt to motherhood than most - because she had to rear her adopted son MADDOX in the jungles of Cambodia.

The actress was filming BEYOND BORDERS when she took charge of a seven-month-old baby, and had to learn how to look after the tot by taking advice from village mums who knew nothing of the latest advances in toys and food.

She says, "My child came to me in an area where we couldn't get a bunch of toys and a bunch of stuff, so I put a sling on and we found fruit on the trees and we found basic things and basic toys.

"By the time I got back to America months later there were all these things I was handed that I needed for my child, and he didn't need any of it anymore. Kids are stronger than we think they are."
