Angelina Jolie wants to cross the Sahara desert.

The 35-year-old actress says one of her favourite films is 'Lawrence Of Arabia' because of its setting and admits it is a long-held ambition of hers to trek the North African region.

She said: "I love 'Lawrence of Arabia' because I love the desert.

"I've spent a lot of time in The Middle East and crossing the Sahara is a dream of mine."

The actress is set to make her directorial debut with 'In the Land of Milk and Honey' and admits she still loves to push herself as she couldn't be "happy" to just stay at home with partner Brad Pitt and their six children.

She told Vanity Fair magazine: "There's a famous quote, 'If it doesn't scare you, it's not worth doing. ' I think there's a truth to that.

"I love being at home with my kids. I love simple things and I wonder why I can't just enjoy them and live that kind of life. But I wouldn't be happy and I wouldn't feel my life is of much worth."
