Jurassic World

The internet was buzzing with the release of the first trailer for next summer's Jurassic World, a long-awaited fourth adventure in the series that started in 1993 but has been lying dormant since Jurassic Park III in 2001. There was also the first new trailer for Pan, Joe Wright's ambitious reimagining of the Peter Pan origin story starring Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund as pirates Blackbeard and Hook, plus Amanda Seyfried and Rooney Mara. It looks sweeping and lavish, with a big sense of imagination. Although it won't be in cinemas until next July. Watch 'Pan' Teaser Trailer.

There's a new trailer for Strange Magic, a Lucasfilm animated adventure based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Featuring goblins and fairies, it looks wacky and colourful. The Interview

A series of new featurettes appeared this week about the comedy The Interview, starring James Franco and Seth Rogen as an American talk show duo that heads to North Korea to interview Kim Jong-un, and is asked by the CIA to assassinate him. The film looks like another riotous broad improvised comedy from the team behind This Is the End. It opens in December in America and in February in Britain. Watch 'The Interview' Trailer & Featurettes.

And last but certainly not least, the sequel to the award-winning cult hit Pitch Perfect released its first trailer this year, showing the entire original cast taking on an epic international a cappella contest.
