Last night Nickelodeon held their 28th annual Kid’s Choice Awards, so you know what that means lots and lots of slime covered stars!
Of all the award shows, Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards is most certainly the messiest. This year Nick Jonas was our master of ceremonies, as the singer and actor presided over a night of slime, orange blimps and a moving appearance by Angelina Jolie.
Your host for the evening, Nick Jonas
Host Nick Jonas opened the show, performing his songs ‘Chains’ and ‘Jealous’, before daring to poke fun at Zayn Malik’s exit from One Direction. Acknowledging how hard a week it had been for the group's legion of teenage fans as ‘One Direction became Two Direction’, Jonas asked “What's next, Fourth Harmony? Three Seconds of Summer? The Jonas Brother?”

The actress took to the Oscars to convince reporters to ask female celebrities more interesting questions.
Reese Witherspoon took to the 2015 Oscars to promote a new feminist campaign #AskHerMore, a movement created to encourage reporters to put more career centric questions to female celebrities on the red carpet, rather than just asking about their designer gowns.

We think we have a new favourite celebrity feminist. If it wasn't enough for Witherspoon to take on such an inspiring feminine role in her latest movie 'Wild'; a film based on the memoirs of Cheryl Strayed, a first time hiker who walked 1,100 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail in a journey of self-discovery; she is now encouraging other actresses and celebrities to want more from their public appearances. The star took to Instagram with a list of questions she hoped to hear as she appeared on the red carpet at the Oscars, including 'What's the biggest risk you've taken that you feel has paid off?' and 'What accomplishment are you most proud of?'.

After a good year for movies and television in 2014, the American Film Institute has honoured the very best that the year had to offer.
For the past fifteen years, the American Film Institute has honoured ten films and ten television shows that truly show off what the year had to offer. 2014 had a particularly good year for films, however, so for the first time, the AFI Awards actually awarded eleven motion pictures with the honouree status. A whole host of celebrities gathered in celebration.

The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies launched straight into 2015 with chart-topping success.
This week’s box office confirmes what we’ve already suspected for a while: people love to watch fantasy over the holidays. The first weekend box office of the year was dominated by The Hobbit: Battle of the Five Armies with $21.9 million. This raised its total haul in the U.S. and Canada to $220.8 million, according to The LA Times. The fourth and final instalment in the Peter Jackson-directed franchise is also the most critically acclaimed one (61% on Rotten Tomatoes), so if you’re still not sure what to go see next weekend, Five Armies is definitely a solid choice.
Battle of the Five Armies might be the best Hobbit film to date.
Then there’s Into the Woods, which is kind of a winter classic – you have fairy tales, singing and Meryl Streep, it’s no wonder the film pulled in $19,1 million over the weekend. The Rob Marshall adaptation of the classic Sondheim musical came in second at the box office, followed closely by Unbroken with $18,4 million, as per The LA Times' report.

What do we know about Unbroken's Miyavi?
Relatively unknown in the Western world but most certainly a major star in Japan, musician Miyavi (AKA Takamasa Ishihara) has been thrown into the centre of the Hollywood film industry owing to his role in Unbroken.
The 39-year-old actress recently spoke candidly about the difficulties of maintaining her marriage with Brad Pitt and being a mother to their six children.
Four months have passed since Angelina Jolie tied the knot for a third time to her longtime partner, and father to their six children, Brad Pitt, and although the Hollywood actress is loving her family, she recently admitted it is “hard work."
Jolie admitted balancing marriage life with Pitt and parenthood is "hard"
The director of the WWII epic ‘Unbroken’ spoke candidly about how difficult marriage and motherhood can be with Australian Women's Weekly, and she even divulged how she and Pitt are constantly trying to better their relationship. “[Brad and I] work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected," Angelina told the magazine. "Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work."
Despite all her success and fame, the 39-year-old actress admits if it was all taken away, "I'd be happy at home being a mom."
Angelina Jolie was known to be rather wild before becoming a mother to her and husband Brad Pitt's six children, and although she is a lot more tamed now, the 39-year-old actress admits throughout her illustrious career she has never played by Hollywood's rules.
Jolie has never played by the rules of Hollywood
2014 has been a stellar year for Jolie, after starring in Disney's 'Maleficent, she recently premiered her latest directorial effort, the WWII movie 'Unbroken,' to rave reviews, and remains one of the only A-list actresses to make a successful transition to working behind the camera. But this career change was never in her long-term plans.

With a true story that's almost hard to believe, this inspiring biographical drama is made with attention to detail and a remarkable resistance to sentiment. And strong acting helps bring the characters to life, even if everything feels a little too carefully staged. But it's the real-life aspect that grabs the attention, and a central figure who's a remarkable example of the indomitable human spirit. The film also marks an auspicious step forward for Angelina Jolie as a director, telling a big story without giving in to the usual sappy moviemaking pitfalls.
Son of Italian immigrants, Louie Zamperini (Jack O'Connell) grew up in 1920s Southern California and by the time he hit his teens is on the way to becoming a criminal. But his brother Pete (Alex Russell) helps him channel his energy to running instead, and his natural skill make him a local champion as well as an American record-holder at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. When the war breaks out, he enlists and serves as a bombardier in the Pacific, surviving a plane crash before later going down at sea and drifting with two colleagues (Domhnall Gleeson and Finn Wittrock) for 47 days before being captured by the Japanese. From here he endures a horrific stint in a prisoner of war camp, taunted by the cruel commandant everyone calls The Bird (Miyavi), who takes particular notice of Louie simply because he refuses to break.
Jolie assembles the film as a big-budget epic, with massive set pieces as the plot cycles through several outrageous episodes before settling in on the prison years. Cinematographer Roger Deakins carefully contrasts Louie's sunny California youth with the much starker visit to Nazi Germany and the astoundingly bleak Japanese prison camp, with those endless days baking at sea in the middle. So the film looks terrific, drawing us into each chapter in Louie's story while building a sense of momentum. It's not quite as complex as it looks; Louie's darker moments feel a bit superficial. But O'Connell adds some weight to each scene, offering a kick of emotion as well as the charisma that convinces the men around him to draw inspiration from his tenacity.

Angelina Jolie and Radioman - Angelina Jolie makes time to meet with Radioman on her 5th day of her promotional tour for the movie 'Unbroken' in New York City - New York, New York, United States - Friday 5th December 2014
Everything was set up for 'Unbroken' to dominate the Oscars, though the critics aren't playing ball.
For the majority of 2014 - and some time before it - Angelina Jolie's latest directorial effort Unbroken has been talked up as a potential Oscar winner. Lord knows the Academy has a penchant for historical biopics and the story of Louis Zamperini is certainly one of the most inspiring stories to rise from the horrors of World War II.
Jack O'Connell [L] stars as Louis Zamperini in Angelina Jolie's Unbroken
Zamperini was a teenage track star at the Berlin Olympics in 1936 but was tested beyond belief as a prisoner of the Japanese during the Second World War. Presumed dead after crash landing in the South Pacific, Zamperini survived by clutching onto a raft for 47 days before being incarcerated in prison camps and beaten daily for nearly 3 years, all whilst kept on a near-starvation diet.

"Unbroken" was a much needed career move for Jolie, but "By the Sea" was more of a bonding experience with Brad Pitt
Recently, Angelina Jolie has made no bones about moving on from acting onto something longer lasting and probably more substantial. I’m hinting at a directorial career, if you haven’t guessed. But Jolie is doing far more than hinting. While doing press for her second effort behind the camera, the critically acclaimed Louis Zamperini biopic, Jolie managed to slip in a little reference to that other project she’s working on.

Jolie is in the process of editing By the Sea, the romantic drama she directed and starred in with Brad Pitt this year. Although she didn’t enjoy directing herself, the newly minted filmmaker said it was a much needed experience for both her and her new husband.
The 39-year-old actress recently opened up about why she prefers being behind the camera, and slowing down her acting career.
As Angelina Jolie is promoting her most recent directorial film, 'Unbroken,' she has hinted that her career as an actress is over and being behind the camera is what her future holds, but her retirement isn't set in stone just yet.

Angelina Jolie is facing some serious award nods for her second stint as a feature film director in 'Unbroken', and while filmmaking seems to be something this Hollywood superstar is naturally gifted it, she admits it was never on her to-do list.
Angelina Jolie never thought directing was on the cards
Having won countless awards including an Academy Award in her prolific acting career, Angelina Jolie is without doubt one of the brightest stars Hollywood has to offer. She is just as well known for her extensive humanitarian projects, namely regarding sexual violence in military conflict zones and has done more than her fair share of charity trips and million dollar donations. It was perhaps this that took her to her 2011 feature filmmaking debut 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' which dealt with an issue close to her work: the Bosnian conflicts.

With the recent news that 'Fury' has topped the box-office over the course of it's opening weekend, Brad Pitt - the film's star - talks about what went into the creation of this hit film. In an interview with the BBC, Pitt explains how the film was never intended to act as a glorification of war. "War is hell," he says, while discussing the film's dramatic impact. In his own words, the film "was about the accumulative psychic trauma that every soldier carries to some extent."
Brad Pitt stars as Sergeant Don "Wardaddy" Collier, alongside Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, Michael Peña and Jon Bernthal. 'Fury' follows the story of these five men who work together within the titular Sherman tank, throughout the final days of World War Two. According to 'Walking Dead' star, Jon Bernthal, "This movie is family drama. It's about a family travelling through hell in a metal box."

Some might have already called Angelina Jolie Hollywood royalty, but now the actress has officially been made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II, during a visit to Buckingham Palace. As Jolie is an American the title, which is the female equivalent of a knighthood, is honorary meaning she cannot be addressed as Dame Angelina Jolie. Still, if Jolie wants she can refer to herself as the rather longwinded Angelina Jolie DCMG.

Jolie was just recently announced as the star herself and has indicated that she intends for the film to be a highlight of her career – if not her last role.

There are times when everyone, no matter how rich, famous or beautiful they are, needs a burger. Whether you've had a little too much to drink, are in the middle of a long motorway journey or have spent the day being chased round zombies sometimes it's time for Wimpy. Actor Brad Pitt certainly seems to have had that reaction on Tuesday (8th July) when he was spotted in Essex ordering fast food with his bodyguards.
Brad Pitt is reportedly a fan of the Wimpy donut.
Let's get real here.
Hey girl, did you know that Ryan Gosling is about to be a dad? Neither did anyone else until this week, but when he and girlfriend Eva Mendes broke the news, the internet exploded with highly inappropriate amounts of “grief.” Well, it was mostly just Twitter. Well, mostly just overdramatic Gosling and Notebook fans. But in honor of these poor lovestruck souls (you can read some choice tweets below) we’ve compiled a list of five other people you are never going to date – no matter how much you’d like to.
Gosling and Mendes got together in 2011, so he's technically been off the market for some time now.
Brad Pitt or Angelina Jolie. When asked to choose between this power couple, most people would be fine with either. Jolie is intelligent, charitable, worldly and stunning. Brad Pitt, even after his hey-day is… how do we put this delicately… hot, not to mention a creative and business-savvy force to be reckoned with. Fortunately for them, they seem to have found a good thing – lasting marriage, a whole litter of children and thriving careers to boot. Unfortunately for us, this means that both are off the market for good. The same largely applies to Beyonce and Jay Z, by the way.

Getting your very first bike represents a landmark for most children - a rite of passage into the world of the mobile. But what if you had an entire skate park in which to hone your skills? Now that would be something.

Is TFIOS worth the hype? In a word, yes.
The Fault In Our Stars seems to be emerging as the winner of this weekend’s box office race, after it made teens across the US (and the world) bawl their eyes out for three solid days. That’s what the tweets say, anyway. The film tells the story of a pair of teens living with cancer – the clever and self-deprecating Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and the disarmingly lovable Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort). As the two meet, fall in love and go on a life-changing trip together, they discover some truths about life, love and the meaning of it all.. As for the box office stats, well, those are nothing to cry about.
The cast of TFIOS at the film's New York premiere.
TFIOS, adapted from John Green’s bestselling novel (read all his books, if you haven’t already, seriously) is doing amazingly well not just in the US, but also in international markets. The film, which reportedly cost just $17 million to make, checked in at $26.1 million in domestic profits on Friday, and is projected to pass the $50 million mark by the end of Sunday, per Box Office Mojo. In international markets, TFIOS is expected to do even better, although the data is still unavailable at this time.

Angelina Jolie seems to have hinted that 'Cleopatra' may be her final acting project. What's the film about and why does she plan to throw in the towel?
We’ve been trying not to listen to them, but there have been plenty of reports circulating that Angelina Jolie intends to quit acting. Even more worrying to hear, it’s being reported that she has plans to act in just one more project before throwing in the towel. Riding high off the success of Maleficent you’d think Jolie would be buzzing off the fact that she’s reached the zenith of her career rather than thinking about calling it quits.
Jolie has been dropping hints about the future of her career in an interview with BBC radio
