Angela Lansbury, Al Pacino, Richard Dreyfuss and Sam Waterston were among the family and friends paying tribute to late LAW + ORDER star Jerry Orbach on Broadway, New York City last night (24MAR05).

Waterston, who starred alongside Orbach in Law + Order, hosted the memorial show at the Richard Rodgers Theater, where Orbach starred in Chicago in the 1970s.

The tribute featured clips from the late actor's TV shows and movies.

Orbach died of prostate cancer in December (04) at the age of 69.

Waterston called him, "Mr Broadway, the BABE RUTH of the boards," adding, "his record will be very hard to beat.

"He gave more performances as a leading actor in Broadway musicals than any other actor."

Orbach's widow, ELAINE ORBACH, revealed the romantic actor used to leave her a poem every morning before he left for work.
