The 39-year-old recording artist revealed he "felt like a sellout" during the hip-hop duo's reunion summer festival tour.
Andre 3000, real name Andre Benjamin, and his hip-hop partner, Big Boi, celebrated the 20th anniversary of their successful hip-hop duo Outkast last summer by playing a string of summer music festivals across the U.S., but their reformation wasn't much of a celebration.

Outkast wants Leonardo DiCaprio to play him in a film, and Kevin James to play Big Boi.

"Instead of really serious, make it a full comedy - like Kevin Hart would play Big Boi," he told Rolling Stone. For himself, Andre said, "We should cast somebody stupid - like Leonardo [DiCaprio]."

Which singers have tried their hand at acting recently?
It seems if you can sing, you should be able to act with a whole host of super singers putting down their microphones and picking up a script instead. Justin Timberlake has made one of the most impressive transferences from stage to screen with exciting supporting roles in hits including The Social Network and the Coen brothers' Inside Llewyn Davis and taking the lead role opposite Mila Kunis in Friends With Benefits.
Beyoncé successfully combined both singing and acting in the musical drama, Dreamgirls, and also tried her hand at pure acting in everyone's favourite detective film, The Pink Panther and in American thriller, Obsessed.
Of course, there are some popstars that are unlikely to ever find themselves in Oscar contention, such as Justin Bieber following his role in two episodes of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation back in 2010, and Joss Stone's slightly more substantial TV role as Anne of Cleves in The Tudors. But which serious fan of The Spice Girls didn't love their whirlwind musical comedy Spice World? And who didn't enjoy Britney Spears' turn in the girls on tour comedy Crossroads?
Andre 3000 stars in 'All Is By My Side', the soon-to-be-released biopic of Jimi Hendrix. The trailer has been released today ahead of the film's release in the UK in August.

Hendrix became a rock icon in the 1970s but his life was tragically cut sort in 1970 when he died at the age of 27. The cause of death cited as a lethal concoction of prescription medication which led to asphyxia, causing Hendrix to choke on his own vomit. The film has been long anticipated as Hendrix's story truly epitomises the astronomic rise and tragic demise of a hugely popular and influential figure.

Consensus: Outcast are still great.
Governors Ball is a notoriously difficult music fest for logistical reasons – remote location, frequently awful weather, etc. Still, crowds flock to the festival year after year – and looking at this year’s lineup, it isn’t hard to see why.
Janelle Monae joined Andre and Big Boi for a rousing rendition of Hey Ya.
With one half of Outkast now out to make records on his own, will the newly-reunited group suffer?
Big Boi has landed his very own record deal with Epic Records, where he'll have the chance to work with his mentor L.A. Reid once again. The rapper, better known as one half of the hip hop duo Outkast, was previously signed to Def Jam and, under Reid's guidance, he released Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors.

They may have struggled to connect with their Coachella crowd, but Outkast certainly impressed at CounterPoint.
Outkast returned home to Georgia for their stint at CounterPoint Festival 2014 - and fans were a lot more pleased this time round than they were at their comeback gig at Coachella.
Nothing was going to spoil the mood at this year's CounterPoint Festival. With a line-up headlined by one of the world's favourite veteran hip hop duos and also featuring Pretty Lights, Foster The People and STS9, not even the ferocious storm that swept the venue over the weekend engulfing festival goers in streams of mud was going to ruin the experience for anyone.
It wasn't Outkast's smoothest show to date, but fans were just happy to have Andre and Big Boi reunited on stage .
Outkast – aka Big Boi and Andre 3000 – reunited for the first time in 10 years at Coachella Saturday night. It was a pretty big deal. The set was broadcast live, so even those unlucky souls who couldn’t shell out for the festival/didn’t feel like traveling for hours to have the three dustiest, most exhausting days of their lives, got to see Outkast perform. The gig generated 90,000 tweets in 24 hours, and by Monday afternoon the recorded set had been viewed more than 1.7 million times, according to NPR.
Andre's most recent endeavor was playing Jimi Hendrix in a biopic, to be released later this year.
There’s a lot of excitement in the air right now about the reunion, especially since Andre and Big Boi announced their 2014 festival tour. So far the tour includes 18 dates, with 40 gigs promised, but Outkast have made it clear that the reunion is not permanent. The duo are calling it a “victory lap” – a thank you to their loyal fans.
The film took seven years to make, but it sounds like a must watch for Hendrix fans.
Outkast’s Andre 3000 got the chance of a lifetime – to play one of his idols, Jimi Hendrix, in an upcoming biopic. The first promotional images for All By My Side have been released, and the film is about to have its US premiere at South by Southwest next week.
Benjamin in character on the set of the film.
In it, Andre 3000 (real name Andre Benjamin) portrays one crucial story from Hendrix’ life – his friendship with one Linda Keith, an ex-girlfriend of Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards, who inspired a lot of Hendrix’s original work. The film itself originated from an instrumental by Hendrix, called Sending My Love to Linda. When screenwriter/director John Ridley (who just won Best Adapted Screenplay at Sunday night’s Oscars) stumbled upon the song, he got the idea to work the story into a full screenplay. From then on, the journey from page to screen took roughly seven years.
