The 'Four Weddings And A Funeral' actress' 21-year-old girl Rainey Qually has been given the prestigious honour by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, which hosts the annual Golden Globes awards ceremony.

Rainey - an aspiring actress and singer - said: "I would like to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for giving me this wonderful opportunity to serve as Miss Golden Globe 2012. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this year's awards presentation."

The Miss Golden Globe recipient assists at the official awards ceremony which is slated to take place on January 15.

This year's event is to be hosted by Ricky Gervais, for the third year running.
