Having been forced to miss her dance-off performance through injury, singer Anastacia has been given the all-clear to perform on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ this weekend.

The 48 year old American singer had been forced to make alterations to her salsa routine ahead of last weekend’s episode of ‘Strictly’, having torn a scar from her double mastectomy operation while training with professional dance partner Brendan Cole last week.

Then, while actually performing on the show, she aggravated the injury to a degree that she was unable to dance a second time for Sunday night’s dance-off.

However, doctors have confirmed that Anastacia will be able to take part in ‘Strictly’ this Saturday (October 8th), provided that whatever performance she and Brendan decide upon is “carefully choreographed”.

A statement from Anastacia’s official Twitter account on Tuesday morning read: “The doctor again confirmed that there was a tear in the scar tissue, which although painful is not permanent. She was given the all clear to dance this weekend with the caveat that the routine is carefully choreographed and she has been given the appropriate medication.”

“Brendan was with her for her appointments and they have been filmed for this weekend's episode. The specialist will be monitoring her condition regularly and she will revisit them on Monday.”

Last weekend, Anastacia finished in the bottom two in the public vote, meaning that she and Kiss FM DJ Melvin Odoom had to compete in a dance-off to decide who stayed on.

However, with Anastacia’s injury and the judges unable to cast a vote, the result therefore reverted to the public poll and, with the lowest amount of votes, Odoom had to pack his bags.
