Amy Winehouse's Back to Black has again been nominated for a best record of the year award.

The troubled singer's album has been put up for a gong at this year's Q Awards, for which nominations were announced last night.

But she will have to compete against the Manic Street Preachers, Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs and Arcade Fire, whose albums have also been lauded by The Music magazine.

Winehouse will be hoping that she makes it third time lucky after failing to come away with the top prize after making the shortlist at both the Mercury Music Prize awards and the MTV Video Music awards.

Mercury winners Klaxons failed to make the album list, but have been nominated for best new act of the year.

US glam-rockers The Killers, Sheffield's Arctic Monkeys, Devonians Muse, David Grohl's Foo Fighters and Irish legends U2 will fight it out for the title of best act in the world.

And Kate Nash, whose debut album Foundations has been praised and put down in almost equal measure, is one of five artists in the best breakthrough act category.

Jamie T, Mika, Calvin Harris and Jack Penate are the other contenders for that award.

Readers of the magazine will be responsible for voting for the winners of each gong, with the awards set to be handed out at the Grosvenor Hotel in London on October 8th.
