Amy Winehouse's father has spoken of his relief at the conclusion of the second inquest into his daughter's death, insisting Tuesday's (08Jan13) ruling marks "the end of the story".

Officials in London voided the original inquest into the singer's 2011 death after it emerged the coroner put in charge of the investigation did not have the correct qualifications for the role.

A second hearing was held this week (beg07Jan13), and coroner Shirley Radcliffe backed the original findings, ruling the Back To Black hitmaker died after drinking too much alcohol. She recorded a verdict of death by misadventure on Tuesday.

Winehouse's family did not attend the second hearing, but her father Mitch insists he is glad the ordeal is finally over.

He tells the London Evening Standard newspaper, "It is the same evidence so it was bound to reach the same conclusion. What other conclusion could they reach? I wasn't going to put my family through that (again), it was horrible. That is the end of the story."

Mitch, who previously accused officials of incompetence for the way the inquest was handled, adds, "It was a massive c**k up (error). They messed up twice. It is preposterous."

After the initial inquest result was ruled invalid, assistant deputy coroner Suzanne Greenaway resigned along with her husband, Inner North London Coroner Dr. Andrew Scott Reid, who gave her the job.

Winehouse was found dead at her London home in July, 2011.
