The British singer's second record, which was released in 2006, has sold around 4.7 million copies in the U.K., putting her ahead of late star Amy Winehouse, whose 2006 album Back To Black was second, with sales of around 3.6 million.

The figures released by the Official Charts Company show British artists dominated sales over the last 15 years, with James Blunt's Back To Bedlam in third place, followed by Spirit by Leona Lewis and No Angel by Dido rounding out the top five in fourth and fifth place respectively.

A surprise addition to the list was Ed Sheeran's X, which claimed 39th spot just nine months after its release. Sam Smith, who was one of Britain's biggest-selling artists of 2014, failed to make the top 50 with his debut In The Lonely Hour, which was released a week before X.
