Amy Adams has landed the coveted role of 'Lois Lane' in Zack Synder's forthcoming 'Superman' movie.Amy Adams, the Oscar nominated actress and star of 'The Fighter', will play Clark Kent's love interest in the new Superman movie, reports the Los Angeles Times. There has been much speculation as to who would land the role, widely regarded as one of the biggest female parts in Hollywood. 'The Tudors' star Henry Cavill has already been cast as the eponymous superhero but the casting of 'Lois Lane' has been kept safely under wraps. However, after announcing the news, Synder said, "There was a big, giant search for Lois. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it", adding, "It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him really understandable for today. What's important to us is making him relevant and real and making him empathetic to today's audience so that we understand the decisions he makes. That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him". Joining Adams and Cavill are Diane Lane and Kevin Costner, who will play Superman's adoptive parents Martha and Jonathan Kent.
Amy Adams recently completed work on the forthcoming adaptation of Jack Kerouac's classic novel 'On The Road'. The movie has been directed by Walter Salles and also stars the British actor SAM RILEY.
