Amy Adams likes her red carpet dresses to make her ''feel womanly''.
The 'American Hustle' star has stunned in a number of gorgeous gowns during awards season this year and claims there are a handful of designers - including Antonio Berardi, Roland Mouret and Victoria Beckham - she turns to when looking for the perfect dress.
She said: ''There are certain designers who I refer to as zip-ons, designers who I have zipped on many times.
''I like to feel supported and all those designers I just mentioned have some internal structure that accentuates, rather than squishes. I want something that makes me feel womanly.''
The 39-year-old actress - who missed out on the Academy Award for Best Actress at the Oscars last Sunday (02.03.14) - also admitted he's become more comfortable with walking the red-carpet now that she's done it so many times.
She told British VOGUE magazine: ''I've relaxed a bit more over time ... I don't like that it's become a sport, and that every aspect of you is picked apart, but I like working with designers to create a look.
''By the end of the process, you feel like an extension of their creation, so you step onto the red carpet thinking that, rather than it all being about you.''
