Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee Alan Jackson joins this year's performers.

The 51st Annual Country Music Association Awards is finally upon us, with the evening bringing in some of the biggest country stars to compete for some of the genre's most coveted awards while also performing live at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. We just can't wait.

Perhaps the most exciting addition to the line-up is this year's Country Music Hall of Fame Inductee Alan Jackson; a veteran of the genre who has won 16 CMA Awards out of 81 nominations making him the most nominated artist ever after George Strait. It's his 24th performance at the event since his first in 1990 when he played 'Chasin' That Neon Rainbow'.

The nominations for the 2015 Country Music Awards have been announced.

The nominations for the 49th Annual Country Music Awards have been announced. Kelsea Ballerini and Steven Tyler made the announcement on Wednesday morning (9th September) whilst appearing on Good Morning America. Eric Church and Little Big Town have received the most nominations – five each with two in the same category as one another.

Swift, who was absent from this year's Country Music Association Awards, was the target of a number of jokes by the hosts Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood.

This year’s Country Music Association Awards (CMAs) saw some light-hearted dissing at the expense of country-turned-pop star Taylor Swift.


Taylor Swift was dissed at the CMAs on Wednesday evening

Hosted for the seventh consecutive year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, the duo’s opening monologue featured a couple of zingers directed at the 24 year old megastar.

Country Music Awards - On The Red Carpet [Pictures]

The CMAs were held last night (6th November) in Nashville Tennessee, winners included Blake Shelton, his wife Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw. The event attracted guests from outside the world of country music including Connie Britton, members of TV's 'Duck Dynasty' and a number of television personalities.

The 47th Annual County Music Awards were held last night (Wednesday 6th November) in Nashville, Tennessee and attracted a host of country music stars and celebrities. The awards, held at Bridgestone Arena, were broadcast live by ABC.

Those who fared well at the awards ceremony included Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert, whilst Tim McGraw's collaboration with Taylor Swift and Keith Urban, 'Highway Don't Care' received two awards.
