NEW GUNS N’ ROSES ALBUM ON THE WAY?

Guns N’ Roses’ guitarist Slash has dropped the strongest hint yet that a new album from the legendary rock group might be on the way.

“We want to do something. We’ve been on the road this entire time, we have another leg coming up in November in Asia, then we’re going to start looking at what the next step is going to be,” he told Revolver magazine about the band’s plans once the Not In This Lifetime tour finally ends.

The 53 year old axeman has been having such a great time on the Gunners’ ‘Not In This Lifetime’ world tour recently that he’s “writing all the time”, with the band itself “in good shape” and working on new songs.

“We want to do something. We’ve been on the road this entire time, we have another leg coming up in November in Asia, then we’re going to start looking at what the next step is going to be,” Slash told Revolver magazine this week.

Foo Fighters delivered what was possibly one of their most memorable sets ever at Firenze Rocks festival in Italy this week, as they invited fellow rockers Guns N Roses on stage for a joint rendition of the latter's song 'It's So Easy'. Anytime Foo Fighters join forces with other bands it's epic, but this was something else.

Download Festival 2018 Live Review

By Adam Holden in Music Reviews on 13 June 2018

After years of melancholic weather, Download Festival finally got five days of the stunning weather it deserved, as over 100,000 fans descended on the UK's home of rock n roll and the likes of Guns N Roses, Ozzy Osbourne and Avenged Sevenfold left everyone raising their hand horns.

Held at Donington Race Track, the previous home to Monsters of Rock festival, it was overhauled and refreshed as Download Festival after a brief stint as Ozzfest during the late 90s. Though whatever the name, the venue has become a holy site to rock and metal fans, a site where fans would annually flock too much like a pilgrimage.

With the vicissitudes of rock n roll over the last few decades, and the capricious tides of metal since the nascent of Monsters of Rock, all the way through to Download, the festival is now more eclectic than ever.

The most exciting acts to watch out for at this year's event.

Held on the famous Donington Race Track, just a stone's throw away from East Midlands Airport, the three-day festival has been home to rock fans for decades, hosting the Monsters of Rock festival from 1980 for 16 years. Since then, Download was curated and whilst replacing Monsters of Rock, it has never lost its appeal or hype, as the biggest acts have frequented the festival since the Download inauguration.

It will also include their 1986 debut EP 'Live ?!*@ Like a Suicide', a selection of B-sides and 25 as yet unreleased recordings from their 1986 Sound City studios sessions.

Guns N' Roses Announced As Final Headliner For Download Festival 2018

By Ed Biggs in Music / Festivals on 10 November 2017

Guns N' Roses join Avenged Sevenfold and Ozzy Osbourne at the top of the bill for Download 2018.

Reformed rock legends Guns N’ Roses have been revealed as the third and final headliners for the 2018 edition of Download Festival.

The group will headline the Saturday night of the three-day festival, which is due to take place at Donington Park from June 8th to June 10th. They join fellow rock legend Ozzy Osbourne and the heavy metal outfit Avenged Sevenfold at the top of the bill.

It’s a serious coup for the festival, and marks a continuation of the new-found co-operation between tempestuous lead singer Axl Rose and band members Slash and Duff McKagan. Gilbert Clarke, Matt Sorum and original drummer Steven Adler complete the line-up, representing four-fifths of the ‘classic’ Guns N’ Roses line-up that recorded 1987’s epochal debut album Appetite For Destruction.
