Former girl-band singer Schuman went to Santa Monica Police to outline the complaint she made last year against Backstreet Boys star Carter.
Melissa Schuman, the singer who last year accused former Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter of raping her in 2002, has this week filed a police report that formally outlines her allegations against the boy band star.
Santa Monica Police Department confirmed that they received a complaint filed against Carter on Wednesday (February 7th), stemming from an alleged sexual misconduct incident dating back more than 15 years.
“I thought it was an option I could no longer pursue,” 33 year old Schuman told Us Weekly in a statement, saying that it was “the single most empowering” thing she had done.
Carter says he feared dying young like Jackson after his weight dropped to 115 pounds.
Cater, who has publicly batted an eating disorder and prescription drug abuse revealed that he feared dying when his weight dropped to just 115 pounds, the same weight Jackson was when he died in 2009.

He has denied claims that he raped the singer-actress when she was 18.
Nick Carter has been forced to deny claims made by a former popstar that he sexually assaulted her when they met. Melissa Schuman made the accusation in a blog post this month, insisting that she wasn't able to come forward earlier due to legal costs she would incur.
The 33-year-old former Dream star wrote an article about her alleged experience when she was 18 in disturbing detail. She said that the Backstreet Boy singer, when he was 22, took her virginity despite her repeated refusals while they were at a party (described by Melissa as more of a 'casual hangout') together at his Santa Monica apartment.

Lively and personal but never quite breaking the surface, this documentary about the boy band phenomenon traces both their 20-year anniversary project as well as their journey to the top and back. It's packed with terrific material that fans will love, and it explores some darker sides of the bandmates' lives, but it skims over any difficult aspects of their experience together. Still, they are energetic and ready for the challenge of taking the world by storm all over again.
To prepare for their 20th anniversary tour in 2013, Backstreet Boys A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter travel to London to record a new album outside the limelight. Back in America, they also revisit their hometowns in Florida and Kentucky, meeting the teachers who inspired them, family members and old friends. But preparing to tour is a much more challenging prospect, as they try to get fit enough to do the old dance routines. And Brian is having a mental struggle that's affecting both his voice and his physicality. This brings up old tensions between them, even as they know that they can never perform without all five of them on stage.

NSYNC will be reuniting on Sunday (15th February) for a special appearance on Saturday Night Live's 40th Anniversary show.
Nsync have announced they will be reuniting - but only for a one off appearance! The group, which was hugely successful in the 90s and early 00s, will be making a special guest appearance on Saturday Night Live's 40th Anniversary show. The show will be aired on Sunday (15th February).
The American boyband had their biggest career peak in 1999, but it wasn't long before they became another forgotten about boyband. They seemed to become an overnight hit in the UK and Europe, and soon they stormed their own nation. However, the success was blighted by lawsuits against their manager Lou Pearlman, who allegedly stole a large proportion of the band's earnings, not to mention problems with Jive Records, Nick Carter's desire to pursue a solo career, Kevin Richardson's departure and A.J. McLean's drug abuse confession.
In the late 90's and early 00's, The Backstreet Boys were the most powerful boy band in the world. After discovering that they had not been particularly popular in the US, the band travelled overseas and became a phenomenon in Europe. But the European scene was not enough for the American band, and they had to crack the US. With a career spanning years of highs and lows, The Backstreet Boys made their way from nothing, to Europe, to worldwide sensation. But what does that sort of strain does that success put on otherwise ordinary people? And just how does anybody overcome it?
'Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of' is an upcoming documentary about the much loved boy band from documentary director Stephen Kijak. The film was set in motion when the band decided to meet in London in 2012 to work on a new album, yet they decided that they wanted to make a movie instead, telling the story of their band and its success. The band contributed all the music to the film, with a release date set for 30th January, 2015 in the US, and a worldwide release date of 26th February, 2015.
Joey Fatone has told fans not to expect an N Sync reunion anytime soon, while Nick Carter should have covered his ears.
Don’t expect N Sync to reunite anytime soon, if former member Joey Fatone’s comments are anything to go by. The singer has dispelled any talk of the boy band getting back together this week, whilst also taking a sly dig at the recently reformed Backstreet Boys.
Last year Fatone and the rest of the N Sync boys staged a mini reunion at the MTV Video Music Awards where former bandmate Justin Timberlake was honoured. But it seems that this was one time deal for the ‘Bye Bye Bye’ hit makers, who don't have any further plans together.
Nick Carter is off the market as he marries longtime love Lauren Kitt
Backstreet Boys heartthrob Nick Carter might have crushed a few teenage dreams this weekend when he married girlfriend Lauren Kitt on Saturday. Nick’s Backstreet Boys bandmates where on hand for the nuptials as US Weekly reports AJ McLean, Howie Dorough and Brian Littrell were among the guests at the outdoor ceremony in Santa Monica.
The 33 year old singer proposed to longtime girlfriend Lauren last year during a romantic getaway to the Florida Keys. The fitness expert and actress walked the aisle on Saturday in an off-white strapless gown with a bouquet of white flowers. The couple are said to be seriously loved up, with an eyewitness telling US Weekly, “At the end of the ceremony they shared the longest wedding kiss I've ever seen. A full minute later they were still kissing. They seem crazy in love and thrilled to be married. You could feel the love bursting out of them.” Tears were also shed as Nick read out his own hand written vows to his bride to be.
