It happened 20 years ago when the pair worked on noir-ish thriller 'Twilight'.
The two starred in the 1998 noir-ish thriller Twilight, alongside Gene Hackman and Reese Witherspoon. During negotiations, after the so-called ‘Favoured Nation’ practice where any star is paid the same as his or her co-stars only ended up applying to two of the actors, Newman apparently volunteered some of his fee in order to top up Sarandon’s.
The 71 year old star told BBC Radio 5 Live in an interview on Thursday morning (March 8th): “Emma Stone once came forward and said she got equal pay because her male stars insisted upon it and gave up something of theirs. That happened to me with Paul Newman at one point, when I did a film with him ages ago.”
Everyone's back from last year's undemanding adult comedy, plus some starry new cast members, for a holiday romp that once again provides a few solid laughs. Alas, it's also just as unambitious, never pushing its characters very far or coming up with anything terribly original. But filmmakers Jon Lucas and Scott Moore know that sometimes audiences just want dumb entertainment.
In the week before Christmas, Amy (Mila Kunis) has reached breaking point with all of her motherly responsibilities. So she's delighted that her boyfriend (Jay Hernandez) and kids just want to have a mellow holiday. Then her hyper-demanding mother (Christine Baranski) arrives with enormous plans that Amy's meek dad (Peter Gallagher) quietly goes along with. So Amy turns to her best friends Kiki and Carla (Kristen Bell and Kathryn Hahn) for help. And they've also been invaded: Kiki's far-too-involved mother (Cheryl Hines) arrives for three weeks, while Carla's biker-chick mom (Susan Sarandon) is a gambling addict in need of cash. So Amy, Kiki and Carla team up to take back control of Christmas.

Susan Sarandon will only take on a project if it evokes fear in her.
The 70-year-old actress believes having ''fun'' is vital in life, and if she has been offered an acting job that is not enjoyable and doesn't make her ''fearful'', she will not pay any ''attention'' to the task at hand and will reject it.
She said: ''Fun is very, very important. I don't understand why you would do any job where you can't have fun, but at the same time, I'm so lazy that if it's not somewhat fearful for me, I don't pay attention.

The actress even compares the pair to the Real Housewives.
Whether or not you know anything about Bette Davis or Joan Crawford, Ryan Murphy's new anthology series 'Feud' is one of the most entertaining new releases of the year. Bringing the two big personalities together in a fictionalised setting - based off of real-life tales - the showrunner got Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange on board to play the warring pair, with brilliant results.
Murphy has of course seen success with anthology shows in the past such as 'American Crime Story' and 'American Horror Story', but looked to do something a little different here, as he based each episode in 'Feud' off of fact. It's something he hopes to continue moving forward as he adapts a number of other stories for the series, such as the bitter relationship shared between former husband and wife, Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

Morgan had tweeted his disapproval at Sarandon's outfit for the 'In Memoriam' segment of the SAG Awards. Chaos, and hilarity, ensued.
Susan Sarandon and Piers Morgan got into a hilariously unlikely Twitter battle – about her boobs. With amused onlookers using the hashtag #CleavageGate, the feud started when the British presenter wrote disapprovingly about Sarandon’s choice of dress for the SAG Awards.
“Would Susan Sarandon wear this to a funeral? No. It was thus horribly inappropriate for an In Memoriam tribute,” Morgan had tweeted on Wednesday (February 3rd) about Sarandon’s outfit at the weekend, which featured a white blazer, black bra and no blouse.

Ray is, in many ways, a regular New York teenager who enjoys skating, goes to school and is being raised by a single mother. The only unusual thing about him is that he was born female. Now he's hit puberty, he wants to under-go hormone replacement therapy and his mother Maggie is behind him one-hundred per cent. She may be grieving for the daughter that she's lost, but all she wants is for Ray to be happy and feel whole. The news that Ray wants to become a boy doesn't sit well with everyone, however. Her lesbian grandmother Dolly, for example, with whom he and his mother lives is dismissive of the idea of transitioning, and when the time comes to sign the parental consent form from the doctor, Maggie struggles to get her estranged husband to agree too. Ray isn't backing down without a fight; he refuses to go to school until he can start afresh in a boyish body, having undergone years of bullying. But it's going to take some serious discussion for him to be accepted for he is by the people around him.
