With ‘Game of Thrones’ fans eagerly awaiting the sixth season of their beloved HBO special, Kit Harington may have just provided a big clue about the fate of his character Jon Snow in a new interview. If you do not wish to know anything at all, please do not read further!
In the middle of one of his infrequent complaints about his obligations to ‘Game of Thrones’, the 28 year old star seems to have unwittingly revealed that he is signed up for one (or more) future appearances, in an interview with Belgian magazine Humo.
Even though speculation has been rife ever since the finale of season five earlier this year that, although his character was seen being stabbed to death, he may not in fact be gone for good. A worldwide movement has dedicated itself to tracking Harington’s every move and haircut ever since.
But, by now, even he must know his fate on the show, meaning that every utterance in every interview he gives at this point is being dissected and scoured for clues.
“I often felt frustrated as well. I had to pass on amazing parts because I was attached to ‘Game of Thrones’,” he said the interview. “So the show is like a double-edged sword to me: I owe a lot to it, but at the same time it has almost completely drained me. Oh well, I try not to think about it too much. The important thing is that I now know exactly how long I am still under contract, and in the meantime…”
Well, that doesn’t quite reveal everything. He might be making an appearance as a flashback or in another character’s vision, or even as a corpse or zombie. When pressed by his interviewer as to how long he’s signed up for, he made a pathetic attempt to evade the question before spilling even more…
“Nice try! I can’t talk about that,” Harington said. “Let’s just say that ‘Game of Thrones’ will remain a part of life for a while, I’ll probably be in my thirties when it’s over. One thing’s for sure: the day I’m no longer on ‘Thrones’ is the day I’ll bury myself in movie projects.”
