Olly Murs (born Oliver Stanley Murs, 14.05.1984)
Olly Murs is an English singer and TV presenter who gained popularity through his appearance on 'The X Factor'.
Childhood: Olly Murs was born in Witham, Essex, to Vicki-Lynn and Peter Murs. Murs studied at Howbridge Junior School in Witham, before going on to study at Notley High School in Braintree, Essex. Here, he developed a love for football, yet it was brought to an end when he suffered an injury that stopped him being able to play. Murs went on to get a job as a recruitment consultant and helped to form a cover band called Small Town Blaggers. Murs made an appearance on the television show 'Deal or No Deal', for which he won 10 GBP in 2007. In 2008, Murs went backpacking in Australia.
Career: After auditioning twice and failing on both occasions, Olly Murs applied again for 'The X Factor' during its sixth series in 2009. He came second in the contest, losing to Joe McElderry, and having to miss his brother's wedding as it clashed with the semi-finals of the show. He was signed to Epic Records, however, in 2010, and his debut single, 'Please Don't Let Me Go', topped the UK charts. MUrs released his self-titled debut studio album on 26th November 2010. The album received positive reviews and reached the second spot on the UK album charts. Murs released his second studio album, 'In Case You Didn't Know', on 25th November 2011, which topped the UK albums chart. This was followed by his third studio album, 'Right Place Right Time' on 26th November 2012, which received moderate results and once again topped the UK albums chart. It reached the number 19 spot on Billboard's 200 list as well. Murs waited until 21st November 2014 to release his fourth studio album, 'Never Been Better'. It topped the UK album charts, yet failed to perform in the US.
Personal Life: In 2012, Murs began dating model Francesca Thomas.
He was attacked for causing panic when he thought he was being shot at.
More than four months after being ridiculed for his dramatic social media posts regarding a so-called shooting at Selfridges in London (that was later reported as a false alarm), Olly Murs is convinced that there's some kind of cover-up regarding the incident.
The 33-year-old was shopping in the department store on Black Friday last year when he experienced a flurry of terror among shoppers. As hundreds of customers evacuated the building, Olly found himself hidden in a small room believing that shots had been fired, though later it was declared that there was no danger.
Despite not having spoken properly to Cowell since he was axed from 'The X Factor' over two years ago, 'The Voice' judge Murs thinks there's no bad blood.
In October 2017, Murs, who was a finalist in the sixth series of ‘The X Factor’ back in 2009, raised eyebrows by accepting a place on ‘The Voice’ for its re-boot on ITV. Ever since, rumours have abounded that he has had a falling out with music mogul Cowell.
However, the English star mentioned in a new interview that, while he admittedly hasn’t even spoken to Cowell since he was axed as a presenter of ‘The X Factor’ back in late 2015, he reckons that there’s no bad blood between them.

The pair have been dating for months.
It's always a surprise to discover a new celebrity couple, especially when they have managed to keep their romance under wraps for so long. Rumour has it that Olly Murs has been dating TV star Melanie Sykes for over a year, indulging in private dates within their own homes.
The 33-year-old British popstar has been with his new girlfriend, a 47-year-old model and presenter, for more than 12 months after a mutual friend introduced the pair and they developed a mutual interest in fitness.

Simon Cowell is not happy.
Just over a year after he quit ‘The X Factor’, Olly Murs has committed the egregious pop star sin of betrayal of Simon Cowell, announcing that he’s set to become a judge on the next series of ‘The Voice UK’.
Murs will be taking up the spinning chair previously occupied by the departing Gavin Rossdale, and will appear when the show returns on ITV for its seventh series in early 2018. He’ll be alongside Sir Tom Jones, Jennifer Hudson and the ever-present will.i.am on the judging panel, while Emma Willis will return as the host.
“I’m absolutely buzzing about being a coach on ‘The Voice UK’ and can’t wait to sit in the big red chair alongside will, Jennifer and Tom,” 33 year old Murs said in a statement on Wednesday (October 11th) announcing his participation on the singing contest.

Olly's twin brother Ben has disowned him and the family, in a feud dating back to Olly's participation in 'The X Factor' in 2009.
Olly Murs’ mother has revealed that the very public feud between her famous son and his twin brother Ben has left her “on the verge of a breakdown”.
The estranged twins had already had a poor relationship before Olly said that he would be missing Ben’s wedding back in 2009, because of commitment to ‘The X Factor’, when he finished second to Joe McElderry. His decision to focus on his career has always been a source of tension, leading to Ben eventually deciding to disown Olly and the family.
Speaking to Sunday Times Magazine at the weekend, 32 year old Olly and his 55 year old mother, Vickylynn revealed the impact the rift has had on the family – including her own health.
The pop star and presenter had just a pineapple to cover his modesty.
Olly Murs made his fans very happy on Twitter Friday morning, by posting a picture of himself completely naked. But Olly didn't quite go the ‘fully monty’ on social media, instead the 32-year-old had a strategically placed pineapple covering his manhood.

The 'X Factor' co-host may be forced to make Olly Murs present alone after coming down with the flu this week.
A source told The Sun [via the Mirror] on Wednesday (October 28th) that Flack was bed-ridden and may not recover in time to host this weekend’s first live shows, leaving co-presenter Olly Murs to do so by himself.
“She hasn’t been feeling well this week at all, and the timing couldn’t be worse, with the first live performances this weekend,” the source revealed. “She has been resting at home and doing everything she possibly can to recover in time to make it on stage with Olly on Saturday night.”

The X Factor presenter spoke about his difficulties with the Loose Women panel
Cheeky chappie Olly Murs has revealed he has been anything but cheerful recently after a "difficult" break up with his long-term girlfriend. The X Factor presenter told the Loose Women panel that he had had a "couple of difficult weeks" following his break-up and spoke of his frustration over rumours that his boss Simon Cowell has been trying to set him up with his co-host Caroline Flack.
The 31-year-old singer said: "I’m so cross with him. It’s so silly. I’ve obviously gone through a break up with my girlfriend which has been quite sad and it’s been quite a difficult couple of weeks.

The split, which is reported to have happened last week, came after the pair had gone on holiday together.
Olly Murs’ professional life is as healthy as it ever was, presenting the new series of ‘The X Factor’ on ITV alongside Caroline Flack and his music career being reactivated in the near future, but behind the scenes the pop star is apparently heartbroken after his three-year relationship with his girlfriend, Francesca Thomas, suddenly came to an end last week.
A report in The Sun on Sunday (September 27th) indicates that Murs, 31, and his 26 year old property developer girlfriend called it a day at some point last week, shortly after enjoying a quick romantic getaway together.
A source close to Murs said: “The split has just happened and it is very raw for Olly, he still feels numb.” It’s thought that the break-up wasn’t acrimonious, but that the pair had simply drifted apart over time, exacerbated by his busy work schedule.
The music mogul has been given the over-25s to mentor again.
The ‘X-Factor’ judges have been given their categories for this year, with Simon Cowell mentoring the Over-25s for the second year in a row. For the first time ever, this series the fans were given the opportunity to select the judges’ categories, with a vote taking place on twitter over the weekend.
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini was given the Groups, after mentoring the Girls last year, while new judge Nick Grimshaw will mentor the Boys and fellow newbie Rita Ora will take the Girls. After the categories were announced Cheryl expressed her excitement on twitter writing, ‘I GOT THE GROUPSSSSS!!! I am so excited !!’
