In 2014, he released his debut album 'In The Lonely Hour' through Capitol Records. That year he also embarked on his first US headline tour, and performed on both 'Late Night with Jimmy Fallon' and 'Saturday Night Live'. He joined the Band Aid 30 team for the new rendition of Bob Geldof's 'Do They Know It's Christmas?'. He has won six MOBO awards, a Brit and BBC's Sound of 2014.
Personal life: Sam Smith was raised in London by parents Kate and Frederick. He studied at St Mary's Catholic School in Bishop's Stortford as well as Youth Music Theatre UK and featured in their 2007 show 'Oh! Carol'. He performed in various jazz bands under the tutelage of Joanna Eden and was part of two choirs: the Bishop's Stortford Junior Operatics and Cantate Youth Choir. He came out as homosexual in 2014. He has admitted to suffering from OCD. He is Lily Allen's third cousin.

The 25 year old singer is currently on the comeback trail following the multi-platinum success of his 2014 debut album In The Lonely Hour. Last month, he unveiled his first new track in nearly two years, ‘Too Good At Goodbyes’, which promptly shot to number one in the UK singles chart.
