His decision came after a petition to stop the performance reached over 18,000 signatures earlier this week, but that pressure wasn't something the National Rugby League, or Macklemore and Mary Lambert were going to give into. Even former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott had called for the song to be excluded from the set. Fortunately, his pleas fell on deaf ears.

In fact, they were planning to keep quiet about the pregnancy for longer, but recent rumours forced their hand, the couple explained in a YouTube video.

Macklemore found himself in a bit of hot water after playing dress-up at a recent performance. The 30-year-old rapper played a secret show in his hometown of Seattle this past weekend, where his costume consisted of a black wig, a beard, and a prosthetic nose -- and some viewed the outfit as anti-Semitic as it was mocking Jewish stereotypes.
After the controversy erupted on the web and social media, Macklemore issued a lengthy statement on his official website, apologizing for those he offended and claiming that his intentions were not to be harmful.
