Harry Styles (born 01.02.1994) Harry Styles is an English singer from the boyband One Direction.

Childhood: Harry Styles was born in Evesham, Worcestershire, England and grew up in the village of Holmes Chapel in Cheshire. His parents are Anne Cox and Des Styles but they divorced when he was 7. He attended Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School and had a job at the W. Mandeville Bakery in the village when he was 16 before auditioning for the UK TV singing competition 'The X Factor'.

Musical career: Harry Styles was first in a band called White Eskimo with lead guitarist Haydn Morris, bass guitarist Nick Clough and drummer Will Sweeny and with whom he won a Battle of the Bands competition. Among his influences are Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Foster the People, Coldplay and Kings of Leon. He auditioned for 'The X Factor' in 2010 as a solo artist but, after failing to make it to the Judges Houses round, he was put together with other solo candidates Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, and Louis Tomlinson to make a new band for the Groups category at the suggestion of one of the judges Nicole Scherzinger. Harry was the band member who put forward the name 'One Direction' which was agreeable to the other members. One Direction came third place in the competition but were subsequently signed to mentor Simon Cowell's Syco Records anyway. Since forming, One Direction has won two BRIT awards, three Teen Choice awards and broke a Guinness World Record as the first British group in US chart history to open at number one in the US with a debut album after the release of 'Up All Night'.

Personal Life: Harry Styles has had various high profile relationships and is known for dating women older than him. In 2011, he dated 'The Xtra Factor' host Caroline Flack who is 15 years his senior. Flack received many death threats from die hard One Direction fans as a result. In 2012, he began dating country pop singer Taylor Swift even spending New Year's Eve together. However, they split in January 2013. Harry has more than thirty tattoos on his body.

Children, Cupcakes And Canines: Harry Styles Drops The Video For 'Kiwi'

There isn't a kiwi in sight in Harry's newest video.

While there's a real classic rock flavour to Harry Styles' latest single 'Kiwi', the new video for the track really couldn't be less rock and roll. Starring child actress Beau Gadsdon, it features one of the most innocent war games ever depicted in a music video.

Directed by filmmaking duo Us, the video sees a really serious bunch of children bringing along cupcakes for what you might initially think is a really intense bake sale in the school hall. However, it soon turns into a food fight of epic proportions; more like a baking battle, or cupcake carnage. Later Harry Styles arrives, wearing the exact same suit as one of the young girls (played by Beau Gadsdon from 'Rogue One' and 'The Crown'), flanked by an army of adorable pooches who make sure the sugary ammo doesn't go to waste.

The star is part of the famous band currently on a hiatus

One fourth of famous pop group One Direction has revealed his new solo career is harder to cope with than being part of the internationally famous band. Louis Tomlinson - who tragically lost his mum last year - is currently on a hiatus from 1D and pursuing his own music.

This is Styles' acting debut, as part of an ensemble that includes Tom Hardy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh. And he admits that he had no idea what to expect on the set. "It was amazing," he laughs. "The first surprising thing was the scale of the production. You walk on set the first day and get taken aback by everything. The movie is so ambitious! Some of the stuff they're doing in this movie is insane. I think whatever you imagine a giant film set to be like, this was very ambitious even by those standards. You know, the boats and the planes and the volume of bodies!"

Dunkirk Review

Essential

Britain's epic 1940 evacuation of Dunkirk has been dramatised on film before, but no one has taken an approach like Christopher Nolan. Not that this is a surprise, since Nolan has made a career of fiercely inventive filmmaking. But this might be his masterpiece: a relatively simple story told with creative verve, relentlessly growing intensity, emotional resonance and the weight of history.

He recounts the events on three timelines. Over the course of a week, young soldier Tommy (rising star Fionn Whitehead) finds himself on the beach at Dunkirk amid 400,000 soldiers hemmed in from behind by the Germans and looking for some way to get across the Channel to England. But every ship he finds is sunk in front of him, or under him, as German pilots drop bombs from the sky. Meanwhile over the course of one day, English yachtsman Dawson (Mark Rylance) and his sons (Tom Glynn-Carney and Barry Keoghan) head off to do what they can as part of an armada of small civilian boats. And in the sky above over the course of an hour, spitfire pilot Farrier (Tom Hardy) engages the Luftwaffe in a series of aerial battles.

Nolan skilfully edits these three time-strands together into a narrative that continually loops back on itself, showing events from different angles. It sometimes feels a bit repetitive, but that's the point, and the result is increasingly resonant as it recounts the events from three internal perspectives. In the focal roles, Whitehead, Rylance and Hardy offer distinct angles on heroism and survival. These are powerfully engaging performances that reveal men merely doing what they can in seemingly impossible situations.
