Last night's American Music Awards (21st November 2010) saw Canadian pop sensation Justin Bieber take home four of the evening's top awards, fending off competition from the likes of Eminem, Lady Gaga, and Usher, reports the Uk's Guardian newspaper. The 16-year-old was victorious in the categories of 'Favourite Pop/Rock Album', 'Breakthrough Artist', 'Favourite Male Pop Artist', while also winning the coveted 'Artist of the Year' award.
The 16-year-old's latest album 'My World 2.0', has sold 2 million copies in the US alone, and he recently sold out his debut Uk arena tour. Speaking about his success, the singer said, "I've been singing Eminem since I was three and Usher is my mentor - so this is big". Elsewhere, on a star-studded night at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Usher received the 'R&B/Soul' award for his record 'Raymond V Raymond', and singer Taylor Swift took home the honour of 'Favourite Country Artist'. Rihanna was voted 'Best R&b' female, and also performed a number of her songs from her latest album.
Live performances on the night came from Katy Perry and Kid Rock, and despite being pregnant, Pink performed an energetic rendition of her new single 'Raise Your Glass'.
