The penultimate results episode of Fox's American Idol last Wednesday attracted 24.9 million viewers, making it the top-rated show of the week. But although Tuesday's performance episode of Idol came in second for the week and the Fox drama Ho use landed at No. 10, CBS's overall line-up performed more consistently, averaging a 6.7 rating and an 11 share. ABC placed second with a 6.2/12, while Fox settled for third in the overall ratings with a 5.6/9. (Nevertheless, it was No. 1 with th e 18-49-year-old demographic that advertisers court.) NBC, which placed only one show, Law & Order, in the top 25, was far behind with an average 3.6/6.
