American Idol judge Simon Cowell has criticised some of the music world's biggest music stars including MADONNA - who he describes as "over".

The music mogul, 43, who is known for his outspoken views - has also slammed Britney Spears and Enrique Iglesias, who he claims "can't sing a note", and Mariah Carey, who "has a great voice but must lose the attitude".

His harshest criticism was reserved for music legend BOB DYLAN - for being "too ugly, too boring, too whiny and too serious".

British Cowell has become a cult figure since the show aired in Britain and America and has made millions from the success of the singing contest.
