American Idol judge Simon Cowell is horrified the show's host Ryan Seacrest has been honoured with a star on the Hollywood's Walk Of Fame, after only ten years on the small screen.

Atlanta-native Seacrest, 30, began his TV career as a correspondent on EXTRA: THE ENTERTAINMENT MAGAZINE and has been hosting American Idol since it's 2002 debut.

Cowell and his co-judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson joined Seacrest as his star was unveiled on Wednesday (20APR05).

Cowell says, "(The star) is ill-deserved. I cannot believe April 20 is going to be Ryan Seacrest Day. I am officially taking this day off my diary.

"Other people doing well just naturally makes me unhappy. I am officially taking this day off my diary."

Seacrest's star was for his achievements in radio broadcasting, but he admitted he wasn't sure anyone would turn up to the unveiling.

He admits, "I thought this would be the most unpopular star dedication ever."
