America Ferrera, the American actress best known for her role in Ugly Betty, married her long-time partner Ryan Piers Williams on Monday (27th June 2011). America Ferrera tied the knot with the director during an "an intimate setting amongst close friends and family", according to People Magazine.
Guests at the ceremony included Ferrera's 'Ugly Betty' co-stars Vanessa Williams and Rebecca Romijn, as well Blake Lively. A representative for the actress revealed, "The bride wore a dress by Amsale's Christos label and Fred Leighton earrings". The couple, who became engaged in June 2010, first met when Williams cast the actress in his student film at the University of Southern California. Speaking shortly after their engagement, Ferrera said, "We kind of connected from the get-go on that professional level and that was something that really drew us to each other - shared passion for what we do and our work". After ending her four year stint on 'Ugly Betty', America began appearing in the hit television series 'The Good Wife'. She is set to lend her voice to the forthcoming animated sequel 'How to Train Your Dragon 2', also starring Gerard Butler and Jonah Hill.
For her role as the outcast 'Ugly Betty', America Ferrera won the 2007 Golden Globe for 'Best Performance by an Actress in a Television series - Comedy or Musical".
